In January 2002 forty scholars of both Muslim and Christian faiths gathered at Lambeth Palace, London, England for a two-day international seminar, entitled "Building Bridges: Overcoming Obstacles in Christian-Muslim relations." The event was hosted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr George Carey, supported by the English Prime Minister, Tony Blair, and had the co-operation of Prince El Hassan bin Talal of Jordan, all of who contribute introductions to the seminar.
The aim of the seminar was to address how Christians and Muslims can overcome obstacles which stand in the way of mutual understanding and trust.
This collection of papers outline the discussions that took place and which offer a message of hope to those seeking to build bridges between followers of these two religions.
